The Care Network

CanWePray4U_Logo.smallYou are invited to join a new ministry of our Association forming now to reach people in our community through prayer. If you are looking for a place to serve in 2015, consider joining   The Care Network. Our goal is to reach people who need the encouragement of someone lifting their name up to our Lord.

We know that prayer changes things, and we want to touch our community in a greater way. As part of our network of volunteers, you would commit to praying at home for all requests.   We also plan to form prayer groups of interested people who will meet at the Baptist Center to pray for individual requests. Would you pray at home or in a prayer group? Join us in reaching people all around us who need the love of Jesus!

Food Pantry/Clothing Closet

Needy Hands at Food PantryThis ministry helps local needy families with food and clothing.  It is our goal to share the message of salvation and God’s grace with every person who comes for help.  Volunteers from our member churches assist by restocking shelves, sorting clothes, assisting clients in the Baptist Center Food Pantry and Clothes Closet, and, most importantly, sharing the Gospel message. The focus is primarily to help those in a crisis situation.

To find out more information or to volunteer or make an appointment, contact Mary Jane Hoover, Ministry Assistant, 704-873-4372 ext. 3 or

School books with apple on desk over green school board backgroundThis ministry partners SYBA and other interested churches with as many local schools as possible.  When a church “adopts” a school, the church members support the teachers and staff through prayer and by showing them they are loved and appreciated with special meals, snacks and small gifts.  They may also provide supplies during the school year.

If your church would like to become involved with the Adopt-a-School Ministry, please contact Mary Jane Hoover at 704-873-4372 ext. 3 or

Toy Store for Jesus

dollar.toystore.smallToy Store for Jesus is a ministry of the South Yadkin Baptist Association created for the purpose of sharing the love of Jesus at Christmas.

Parents who struggle with finances in the home are concerned about how they will be able to give their children presents on Christmas morning.  We hope to make Christmas joyful instead of stressful by offering parents the opportunity to select new toys to give their children.  They are able to choose from dolls, trucks, balls, games, books and many other toys they would find in local stores.

When parents come to the store, they find loving people from churches in our Association who help them choose toys for their children.  Parents are also able to select from pre-owned coats for members of their family.  The most important part of the store is sharing the love of Jesus with the parents.

Toy Store for Jesus provides a ministry opportunity for our South Yadkin Baptist Association church members.
